‘Empowering Governance, Development & Businesses through Future Generation Technologies’

Digital India mission is a step towards rebuilding and reshaping the country’s vision i.e. to digitally empower the society centering around: “building digital infrastructure, creating strong governance and services and digitally empowering the citizens.” An ambitious investment of $480 mn (INR 3,073 Cr) has been committed to the vision and mission of making ‘Digital India’ a reality. The bottom line of this mission is to penetrate the government services at all levels within the country and making them available to their citizens, who are the key user of the society.

In order to build strong citizen-centric e-governance, the government has identified the key focus areas like availability of high speed of internet, creating unique digital identity of citizens, syncing smartphones and banking industry, shareable – safe – secure cyber space on cloud, availability of services in real-time, leveraging and building strong GIS for strong decision-making, digital literacy, accessibility and availability of digital resources, and collaborative governance in all the sectors and services throughout the country.

To make such a diverse well connected nation, it is mandatory to bring public – private industry on the same platform, wherein the government has a vision and a platform while private sector has the technological capability to build the SMART ecosystem along with the government in realizing the vision of digitally advanced India.

Keeping this in mind, and focusing on technologies such as internet of things, artificial intelligence, big data and geospatial information system, it is essential that the unification of all happens at the same level. There is a huge amount of data coming through various sources every day, which is piling on the large data set called big data. IoT is all about connecting the data, machines, smartphones, people, etc. It enables seamless conversation between man and machine, software and hardware. AI or machine learning (ML) is about simulating or training machines in an intelligence manner that reacts, responds, and enhances in the physical world as much as they respond in the information world; GIS with location intelligence and location analytics as its chief constituents helps in capturing, storing, analyzing, manipulating different positions of the earth and data on maps. It also explains its impacts through spatial patterns and relationships.

On the basis of above of all the factors and for Indian economy to thrive the three very crucial pillars i.e. are Government, Developmental Goals, Businesses, technologies in present and future have to come together in a way that government and business across becomes more sustainable, impactful, and outcome-driven.
